Contours comprises four movements for piano: Branches, Clouds, Constellations, and Waves.

As these titles suggest, Contours presents shapes from nature, making it a kind of landscape.

Each movement expresses its shape in spectro-temporal space, where time and pitch act as

spatial dimensions. The music is accompanied by a graph of its rhythms and pitches, shown

below. The graph does offer a quick analysis of the music, but more importantly it offers a syn-

aesthetic experience of hearing sights and seeing sounds.
